This two 8-hour each courses applies technical skills to advanced vascular surgery. Students begin with the Carrel Vascular Anastomosis 🏅, then progress to aortic trauma repair, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, bypass procedures, patch angioplasty, thrombectomy, and arterio-venous access creation.

The course also covers central venous catheter placement (including Swan-Ganz catheter insertion) 💉 and emphasizes teamwork, precision, and judgment under pressure—skills vital for both vascular surgery and broader medical practice.

❤️ Cardiac Surgery 101

This 24-hour intensive course develops technical speed and precision in cardiac and thoracic surgery. Students train in cardiac cannulation for bypass, coronary artery bypass grafting, and valve replacement and repair. Anatomy is explored using both bovine specimens and 3D-printed soft models.

Advanced modules include thoracic aortic interventions such as aneurysm and dissection repair, Bentall and Cabrol procedures, ascending aortic hemiarch repair under hypothermic circulatory arrest, and traumatic aortic injury repair. By the end, students will achieve a high level of competence in one of surgery’s most demanding specialties.

🔬 Endoscopic Surgery

This 8-hour course introduces laparoscopic and endoscopic surgical techniques using professional training modules 🎮. Students develop dexterity and spatial awareness while performing simulated procedures including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, bowel repair, hiatal hernia repair, fundoplication, and Heller myotomy.

The course emphasizes fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, and teamwork. Interestingly, skill in video games can give students a helpful advantage in mastering endoscopic tools.
