SPACEX FIELD TRIPS

Congrats to our Interns – PVNet SWFT Aerospace Competition Winners, High School & College Interns Visit Hawthorne Headquarters
PVNet Interns had the extraordinary opportunity to step inside SpaceX’s Hawthorne headquarters—not once, but twice. Our two field trips took place on July 11th and August 8th, following PVNet’s outstanding achievement in the SWFT Space Junk Competition, where our teams earned 1st and 2nd place.

The purpose of these engineering tours was to give interns the chance to present their award-winning space debris mitigation solutions directly to SpaceX and to gain first-hand insight into one of the world’s most innovative aerospace companies.

WORLD'S TOP ENGINEERS
During each trip, SpaceX engineers welcomed our interns and shared personal stories of their career paths, the skills they developed, and the experiences that led them to join the company.
SPACEX MISSION
Interns learned about SpaceX’s mission, ongoing projects, and the challenges of advancing space technology.
Interns learned quickly that SpaceX engineers believed in the mission and didn't care about the money.

Interns were exposed to many things about SpaceX’s operations:
-
Production lines where rockets and satellites are manufactured were efficient and organized.
-
SpaceX engineers worked 7 days a week
-
Satellites and Rocket components were manufactured quickly
-
Insights into the processes that make rapid design, testing, and launches possible.

These immersive experiences opened everyone's eyes to new career paths and a new world of possibilities in engineering, manufacturing, chemistry, physics, and aerospace innovation, inspiring the next generation of problem-solvers and space industry leaders.

Plus they have a great food court.

Here are some of SpaceX's great achievements:
