INVENTORS GUILD INT. YOUNG INVENTORS PROGRAM

OVERVIEW FOR YOUNG INVENTORS

Membership in the IGI is divided into two categories. This page is for Young Inventor members ages 17 and below. Please see our Inventors Membership page for more information on adult membership.

The IGI's Young Inventors Program offers aspiring inventors useful and meaningful skills needed to become entrepreneurs or at least how to think like entrepreneurs.

Membership Benefits

Young Inventors enjoy the same benefits of our adult members, but will interact with their peers in an environment for those looking to get a head start on their future projects.

Members will be granted a wide array of constructive and unique benefits, including:

  • Monthly meetings which will include guest speakers and round-table workshops

  • The chance to form groups and/or match up with a mentor who will act as an Adviser to help guide their project

  • Members-only classes on technology, coding, 3D printing and more

  • Access to advice, space and technology for prototyping both hardware and software

  • Access to state of the art computer software and 3D printing services inaccessible anywhere else.

  • One-on-one interaction with our Advisory Committee and mentors

  • Annual PVNet Inventors’ Celebration.

Members are welcome to schedule weekly meetings with their mentors throughout the month at PVNet's Technology Center.

What Young Inventors Learn

Young Inventors' relationships with their mentors are key. They allow members to focus on development and creation of their product or prototype. Mentors will help Young Inventors:

  • Learn entrepreneurial skills

  • Pitch and receive constructive feedback on their ideas

  • Collaborate in groups on new ideas or inventions

  • Construct their own program or invention with hands-on assistance

  • Prepare themselves for future programs such as the PVP Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneurs Academy

Young Inventors will also have the option to further their education through classes and tutoring with highly trained professionals and educators at PVNet. Members will be granted a 25% discount on any PVNet classes related to their project.
