Youth Educational Programs
Competition for college admittance requires students
to go beyond the basics. PVNET offers a variety of programs for
both the pre and post college student.
The PVNET’s Intern program offers the student an opportunity
to support their community while learning computer and leadership
skills. Many of PVNET’s students have gone on to significant
careers in computer technology. Interns have a choice to work in
four areas, web design, animation, GIS and computer hardware.
Interns will be able to develop many related skills in the course
of their activities such as in marketing and communications while
having the opportunity to meet community leaders.
Web Design
As
a public service PVNET offers to host and maintain free web sites
for non profit and community service organizations. During the
election cycle PVNET offers all local candidates a free web site.
Non profit and community service organizations can also list their
events at no cost on the PVNET’s calendar and use the PVNET’s
list server for bulk e-mails to their members.
Free Computers
PVNET refurbishes donated computers and provides them free to
low income families.
Computer Classes
PVNET offers a wide variety of classes for both
young and old. These classes include Photoshop, animation, GIS
and Movie Maker. Of special interest is the summer animation program
where students from the age of 15 learn the basics of developing
and producing animated videos. For the latest schedule of classes click
